ZAR ritual pendant from the Nile region (Sudan / Horn of Africa), 20th century. Triangular hollow silver pendant with side opening. Repoussé decoration composed of raised bosses and a central stylized motif. Suspension rings at the angles and small spherical sound elements (bells) attached on chains. Surface shows wear and patina consistent with age and use. Female adornment associated with ZAR possession rituals and protective functions.
