Bastar region, Madhya Pradesh, Central India.
Cast circular ring, with peripheral figurative relief decoration. The motifs depict stylized human and animal figures associated with the agrarian cycle, including ploughing and sowing.
This type of male ring belongs to the ritual corpus of the Muria communities of Bastar. It is connected to symbolic fertility practices, agricultural regeneration, and the prosperity of cultivated land. The iconography reflects the relationship between man, livestock, and soil.
Single-piece casting. Wear consistent with use and ritual handling. Brown aged patina with golden highlights.
