Antique tribal necklace centered by a rectangular silver pendant partially gilt, suspended from a twisted metal cord and complemented by orange bakelite beads.
The pendant features a chased floral motif arranged within a triangular register framed by a beaded granulation border. Small applied gilt flowers enrich the composition. Four colored glass cabochons, set at the corners of the plaque, introduce red and green accents.
The lower edge of the pendant is articulated with a row of chains carrying small spherical bells. These mobile elements create a soft sound when worn and belong to a decorative vocabulary widely found in tribal jewelry from Central Asia and the western regions of Pakistan.
The pendant is mounted on a braided metal cord with silver beads and several cylindrical orange bakelite beads imitating the color of coral. Phenolic resins such as bakelite became widely used in tribal ornaments during the first half of the twentieth century as substitutes for organic materials like Mediterranean coral.
The technical and decorative characteristics of this piece are consistent with tribal jewelry produced in western Pakistan, particularly in the regions of Sindh and Balochistan.
